The newly appointed Finance Minister and senior Maoist leader Dr. Baburam Bhattarai has said that the first job of the government will be to provide relief to the people.
The government, he said, will introduce policies and programmes to provide relief to the people.
In his interaction with the officials of the Finance Ministry after he took oath as minister, Dr. Bhattarai said that his party wants to introduce economic revolution after the new constitution is written.
"For the time being, the people are in desperate need of relief from poverty and hunger. And the main responsibility to provide them with relief rests with this ministry," he said.
Dr. Bhattarai also said that a new budget will soon be unveiled
